Meet our new business development manager Nils Hölser

Can you tell us a bit about your professional background and previous work experience?

I’ve started my career as an area manager within one of Amazon’s Fulfilment Centers, where I have managed 150+ people and several thousand robots. Managing the efficiency between human and machine, while always staying agile to externalities such as delays or technical issues with Amazon’s high client centricity in mind was a wonderful experience and great fun!

Eventually, my private life led me to move cross-country and my personal competitive drive led me into sales. In the past, almost 5 years, I have advised B2B customers such as Danone in their digital transformation and matched them with the right SaaS solution.

My professional background is heavily influenced by Amazon’s leadership principles and always will be. It shows especially in my obsession to deliver the highest possible standards to my/our customers.

What attracted you to this industry?

Multiple things. I am an avid cyclist (mostly road cycling) and always wanted to professionally move closer to my passion. Working together with our clients to realize e-Mobility and e-Bike projects is a big joy, which I am looking forward to.

I am also passionately believing that the future of urban mobility and micro-mobility needs to move away from cars and towards bikes and hybrid mobility concepts, that are fit for purpose. To form the spearhead of this movement together with our customers is very intriguing to me.

What are some of your career highlights or achievements so far?

It’s hard for me to take credit for my achievements because I would like to believe that it always has been other people who are much greater than me who believed in me and coached me into the professional I am today.

That being said, I am proud of the manager I became at Amazon, always putting my team and the customer on top of any priority list – no matter what. My team paid it back with record-breaking performance numbers.

I am proud of many successful sales projects, where the customer’s needs were exceeded and still today make an enormous difference in the daily operations of multi-billion-euro businesses.

Ultimately, I am proud that I have gotten into a position where I can give back knowledge and watch other people grow alongside me, while continuously growing myself.

What specific skills and expertise do you bring to the table that is relevant for your role?

I think the principles I work by differentiate me more and always have led me to acquire skills quite fast. Of course, I have a wide set of managerial and commercial skills, but those are less what I take pride in, when directly being compared to the principles I work by.

I tend to be quite structured in what I do and believe that getting better 1% every day is compounding to something extraordinary.

I also believe that whatever your desired result it, it takes consistency, persistence and a strong bias for action and ownership to get there.

Are there any particular projects or areas you’re most excited to work on?

Any application that touches sports is clearly close to my passion, so I am naturally looking forward to working with an OEM, who is developing a product in this domain.

Having a background in logistics, I am also looking at the exciting e-Mobility developments in last-mile delivery projects and would love to take part in developing an attractive product in this area with our partners.

Is there a particular philosophy or principle that guides your professional life?

Many. But I do believe that many things are a boomerang: Kindness, a smile, good service, great leadership, the will to get better every day, and so on.

All those things will come back to you in a positive way. One way or the other.

That being said, the negative counter-side also has its negative effects. So, I try to be the best version of the professional that I am every day and work by the principles mentioned before.

What are your short-term and long-term goals with A&C Solutions?

Short-term goal: My immediate objective is to become an undisputed expert in the eMobility field. I am committed to deepening my knowledge and staying at the forefront of industry trends.

Long-term vision: In the long run, I aim to expand the DACH market by bringing the same high standards we provide to A-Players like Busch+Müller and Supernova to other brands. My focus remains on delivering exceptional value to end customers.

Ultimate ambition: Ultimately, I aspire to grow the DACH team at A&C Solutions. It would be great to see my actions grow the market and enable more Germans to find their way to us. And yes, I would not mind winning one of those internal sports events!
